Stantec announces landscape architect David Amalong has joined the firm as a community development principal in its Boulder, Colo., office. David will support project design, management and business development initiatives to further expand the firm's regional and North American wide capabilities.

"David has a nationally-recognized expertise and an exceptional focus on the needs of his clients," said Joe Geller, a New England regional vice president for Stantec. "His leadership will be a tremendous complement to our constantly growing team."

He has led several major project efforts, including a mixed-use office building in Denver's Union
Station neighborhood.

At Stantec, Amalong is leading the urban design for several mixed-use, transit-oriented development projects, including a 17-acre project in the Boulder Colorado Transit Village, and a 243-acre development in Brantford, Ontario. He is also providing station design leadership for Denver's North Metro Rail Line project.

Amalong is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and the Urban Land Institute, an organization for which he serves on the Colorado chapter's transit-oriented-development committee. Amalong received his bachelor's degree from Penn State University. He is a LEED-accredited professional, and
