Today's landscape contractors and superintendents can control maintenance of their grounds with easy-to-use, web-based intelligent irrigation systems. Cyber Rain became one of the first central irrigation products to earn he U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's WaterSense certification.
The company's full line of residential and professional products has been independently certified to meet specification for weather-based irrigation controllers. Weather-based controllers use local weather data to tailor irrigation schedules to actual site conditions, ensuring that they are able to provide ample irrigation for healthy plant growth without overwatering.
''Homes with traditional irrigation systems can use about 50 percent more water than those without them,'' said Veronica Blette, branch chief for WaterSense. ''Properly installed and programmed WaterSense-labeled irrigation controllers can significantly reduce water waste, provide convenience, and meet plants' water needs while supporting a healthy landscape.''
A recent partnership with Weather Underground now provides the company with an extensive network of weather stations and accurate weather data. This is the most critical component in accurately targeting and adjusting water usage based on actual environmental factors rather than simple timers.
