Construction Industry Awards Announced

The Construction Marketing Association was founded in 2009 to address the need for more effective, results-oriented marketing to combat the consequences that the Great Recession, during which the U.S. labor market lost 8.4 million jobs, or 6.1 percent of all payroll employment, had on the construction industry.

The Construction Marketing Association recently posted the winners of the 2013 CMA STAR Awards and Construction Marketer of the Year Awards.

The STAR awards recognize excellence in 16 marketing categories and 78 sub-categories. Construction Marketer of the Year awards recognize top brands, companies or individuals by region.

The big winner was McGraw-Hill Construction, which won Best in Show with 22 total STAR Awards. In addition, the company won Construction Marketer of the Year for the Eastern region.

Swanson Russell won Construction Marketer of the Year for the Western region with 13 STAR Awards. Bosch won Construction Marketer of the Year for the Midwest region with 9 STAR awards, including winning entries for new product launch.

CMA Chairman Neil M. Brown commented that this year's go-round "realized double-digit growth in volume along with continued excellence in creative execution and deeper measurability of marketing results."

CMA's annual awards are open to both members and non-members. The 2014 awards will get underway in January, with the entry deadline in September and winners announced by November.
