Conn. ASLA Chapter Design Awards




Towers|Golde (New Haven) received a Merit Award for the Carl and Dorothy Bennett Community Garden at Greenwich Hospital, Greenwich, Conn.

The Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (CTASLA) announced the winners of its 2007 design awards, recognizing excellence in landscape architectural design, planning and analysis, communication and research.

CTASLA award winners included:

  • Elmore Design Collaborative (Suffield), Honor Award, research category—“Watervliet Shaker Site Master Plan — Phase 1” (Albany, N.Y.).
  • Richard Bergmann Architects (New Canaan), Honor Award, built works/residential category—“A Woodland Garden.”
  • TPA Design Group (New Haven), Honor Award, built works/residential category—“Sachem Head Residence” (Guilford).
  • Dickson DeMarche Landscape Architects (Wilton), Merit Award, built works/residential category—“Beachfront Retreat” (Westport).
  • Towers|Golde (New Haven), Merit Award, built works/corporate-institutional category—“The Carl and Dorothy Bennett Community Garden at Greenwich Hospital” (Greenwich).
  • The S/L/A/M Collaborative (Glastonbury), Merit Award, built works/corporate-institutional category—“University Hall, Montclair State University” (Montclair, N.J.).
  • Bothwell Site Design (Norwalk), Merit Award, built works/residential category—“Shoreline Farmhouse” (Darien).
  • Rudy J. Favretti (Storrs), Merit Award, research category, book—Jacob Weidenmann, Pioneer Landscape Architect.

In recognition of National Landscape Architecture Month, posters of the award winners were exhibited in the concourse between the Legislative Office Building and the State Capitol in Hartford.
