Congressman Fred Grandy (R -IA) introduced HR 4133 to extend disaster assistance to nursery growers whose crops were affected by natural disasters, particularly the summer floods of 1993. Nursery growers have been eligible for disaster assistance since 1990, but this bipartisan bill corrects inequities in the disaster assistance program for nursery and other specialty crop growers that have excluded perennial plants and nursery trees.
