Green Roofs for Healthy Cities announces Glen Murray, the new minister of the Environment and Climate Change for Ontario, will speak at "Grey To Green: A Conference on the Economics of Green Infrastructure – Focusing on Health" in Toronto, August 25. Glen Murray is the first Ontario minister in Ontario tasked with specifically addressing climate change.

"Facing a mean temperature increase of 4C or more requires us to change the assumptions we have based
our decisions on that led us to our current state. Green roofs and other forms of green infrastructure can produce
a new normal that allows our cities to develop within the constraints of the global climate crisis,"
said Minister Murray.

"It is an honor to have Minister Murray with us at Grey to Green" said Steven Peck, GRP, founder and president of Green Roofs for Health Cities, and chairman of the Green Infrastructure Ontario Coalition. "The conference has over 75 expert speakers on how investing, designing and planning for living green infrastructure such as green roofs and urban forests can tangibly help us to mitigate and adapt to climate change while simultaneously improving our mental and physical health and well-being," he added.

In addition to technical sessions on August 25, Grey to Green provides a variety of professional training courses, tours, a workshop on Ecohealth Research and a Green Infrastructure Design Charrette on August 26 www.greytogreenconference.org.
