Study shows 1997-1999 sales up 47.2 percent
Washington, D.C.
Sales of concrete pavers per manufacturer in the U.S. approached 4.7 million square feet in 1999, compared with 3.8 million in 1997. Median sales growth was 47.2 percent from 1997 to 1999, and the typical firm experienced sales growth of about 22 percent during 1998 and 1999.
"1999 was a banner year for most paver manufacturers," said Manfred Herold, Chairman of the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) and president of Browns Concrete in Sudbury, Ontario. "We've barely scratched the surface of potential in some market places and most continue to grow above previous estimates."
