Conard-Pyle/Star Roses Company introduces new roses to the ”Star” roses series, including Sunshine Daydream, the 2012 All-America Rose Selections (AARS) winner. Other roses in this series are Eyeconic Lemonade (yellow), Eyeconic Pink Lemonade (pale pink) and Thrive (red).
“These new introductions are now available to consumers,” says Steve Hutton, president of Conard-Pyle/Star Roses. “The Eyeconic series performs the best on the West Coast, but Sunshine Daydream and Thrive do quite well across the country.”
Sunshine Daydream is the first traditional garden rose to win AARS under no-spray trial conditions. Bred by Meilland International, this rose features light yellow flowers that finish to a cream color, and dark green, glossy foliage. Eyeconic Lemonade, a bright yellow rose, and Eyeconic Pink Lemonade, a pale pink rose, are both strong bloomers and self-cleaning. Part of the Hulthemia series, these breakthrough roses feature the characteristic Hulthemia “blotch” in the center. Thrive is a strong and healthy descendant of the “Knock Out” rose with red blossoms that will last all season.
