The Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) has developed a video of the new fully computerized L.A.R.E., which shows exactly what each section of the exam will look like. The video can be found on YouTube and includes an overview of how testers will interact with the exam as well as examples of test questions.
As the format of the L.A.R.E. is set to change in September; registration for the new exam is now open through Friday, August 31st (midnight Eastern Time). It is recommended to register early to ensure the best chance of testing at the tester's preferred location. Please note that Sections 1 and 2 have replaced Sections A and B, but will be in the same format, multiple-choice and multiple-response.
Sections 3 and 4 (which replace previous Sections C, D, and E) will now span two weeks instead of two days; candidates will also have the opportunity to interact with computerized advanced item types for the first time to demonstrate their knowledge. Registration for Sections 3 and 4 will open Tuesday, September 4th through Friday, November 23rd (midnight Eastern Time).
Beginning next year candidates will have the opportunity to complete the exam and obtain initial licensure faster, as the exam will be administered three times a year. Sections 1 - 4 will be offered during each of the following administrations:
?EUR??,,????'?????<??????????????????????(R)???????+???????(R)???????? April 8 - 20, 2013

The Exam Candidates section on the CLARB website has also been updated to make it easier for potential testers to find the information needed about the exam and initial licensure. For more information about CLARB or the new test format please visit clarb.org
