The California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA) runs the annual statewide competition to showcase landscaping work throughout the state. Steve Hanson Landscaping has received awards from the CLCA competition two years in a row.

The firm claims that it makes sustainable energy choices in choosing plants native to the Santa Barbara area. According to a press release, their waterfalls and fountains run on circulated water, using less energy and water.
