The Irrigation Association?EUR??,,????'?????<???????????????????????(R)?EUR??,,????'????s (IA) Smart Water Application Technologies (SWAT) initiative seeks to recommend industry standards for testing ?EUR??,,????'?????<?????????????????smart?EUR??,,????'?????<????????????????? irrigation technologies in cooperation with landscape professionals, manufacturers, and distributors. The process for developing these standards includes the publication of draft testing procedures for public comment and review.
One such comment period began regarding testing recommendations for add-on controller devices on January 27th. These devices are intended for retrofit into new or existing systems to make them ?EUR??,,????'?????<?????????????????smart?EUR??,,????'?????<????????????????? controllers. The sum of these comments will be integrated into a final recommendation to the EPA, which the regulator body will then consider for inclusion in final testing protocols. These comments will not affect existing recommendations for newly installed climatologically or soil moisture based controllers.
The comments can be made at www.irrigation.org/SWAT/Industry/default.aspx?pg=drafts-addon.htm.
In another note, the summary review comments have been posted for rain sensors. The information may be accessed at www.irrigation.org/SWAT/Industry/default.aspx?pg=drafts-rainsensor.htm.
