Homeowners, especially those trying to or expecting to try to sell their house, know about the importance of curb appeal. One of the ways to influence it is through the use of color.

Seeing that August is National Curb Appeal Month, color expert Kate Smith of Sensationalcolor.com released an infographic that reports on some findings about the correlations between color and curb appeal.

First, according to a homeowner's exterior preference study conducted by Harris Interactive, 78 percent say that curb appeal is either extremely important or very important to them. When asked about the role that color plays when considering changes to the exterior, 59 percent place a lot of emphasis on that role.

Real Estate agents agree on the importance of curb appeal listing it as one of the top five most valuable home improvements a homeowner can make for a quick resale, according to a Zillow survey.

In the landscaping department, Smith advises that the colors it contains complement the exterior of your customers' houses and that plants should be selected as carefully as an interior designer chooses accessories for the inside of a house.
