The push to have landscape architecture licensure law in all 50 states hit a wall last year when Colo. Gov. William Owens (Rep.) vetoed the Landscape Architects Professional Licensing Act (HB06-1331).
This year, the landscape architecture licensure law (SB07-107) has again passed through the Colorado legislature and went to Gov. Ritter?EUR??,,????'?????<???????????????????????(R)?EUR??,,????'????s desk May 15, 2007. The governor has about 200 bills on his desk with a deadline of June 4.
We encourage you to contact the governor: Bill Ritter, Governor 136 State Capitol Denver, CO 80203-1792 tel: (303) 866-2471 fax: (303) 866-2003 email: Governor.ritter@state.co.us.
If you email the governor, you will want to include this link: https://www.landscapearchitect.com/research/article/6977
This link will take the governor to our news item about Gov. Owen?EUR??,,????'?????<???????????????????????(R)?EUR??,,????'????s veto last year and to all the letters we received on this licensure issue. These letters speak volumes and Gov. Ritter should be aware of the concerns of the landscape architecture profession.
