California Cities Support Tree Planting Strategies

SACRAMENTO, CA

The League of California Cities recently adopted a resolution to support legislative or regulatory efforts to quantify the air quality benefits of strategic tree planting and other measures that reduce the "urban heat-island effect." The League apparently hopes that tree planting may one day be used as a strategy to obtain air pollution credits under the federal Clean Air Act.
