CLCA Endorses Irrigation Association Best Management Practices

The Calif. Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA) has endorsed the Irrigation Association's turf and landscape irrigation best management practices, a water usage document to help professionals and policymakers.

The IA's best management practices are:

1. Assure overall quality of the irrigation system.
2. Install the irrigation system for the efficient and uniform distribution of water.
3. Install the irrigation system to meet the design criteria.
4. Maintain the irrigation system for optimum performance.
5. Manage the irrigation system to respond to the changing requirement for water in the landscape.

Each BMP has a set of practices to implement the BMP, with appendices of additional resources and water conservation and management ideas. The document is available on line at www.irrigation.org (under the ?EUR??,,????'??Industry Standards?EUR??,,????'?? heading).
