CLARB'S "Paperwork Reduction Act" The Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards' (CLARB) Certification helps licensees seeking reciprocity avoid delays and disappointments--from lost jobs to ineligibility--when employers relocate or don't respond or when registration records are destroyed, accidentally (Pennsylvania's fire or Florida's move) or systematically (Colorado's sunset). Executive Director Clarence Chaffee says some states consider CLARB's independent verification--either Certification or the interim "Council Record"--equivalent to application standards; others reduce applicant fees. Caption/photo of Mary Quist: Landscape Architects, including those in states where sunset is very possible, may want to contact program coordinator Mary Quist at (703) 818-1300 to find out how CLARB Certification can streamline becoming licensed in another state.
