CLARB Presents Winners of Student National Design Competition

The Landscape Architectural Registration Boards Foundation has announced the winners of the sixth annual Wayne Grace Memorial Student Design Competition:

Joshua Circle-Woodburn, Calif. Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo?EUR??,,????'??+?EUR??,,????'??Lokahi, a Culturally Centered Sustainable Resort” unites ancient Hawaiian culture with modern techniques for environmental preservation.

Catherine Carnet, University of Georgia?EUR??,,????'??+”The Peachtree Street Bridge: Atlanta’s Missing Link” illustrates the potential of a 37-mile utilitarian roadway in Atlanta as an urban park.

Kathryn Hergenrather, Calif. Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo?EUR??,,????'??+”A Sustainable Redesign of the Cal Poly Equine Center” restructures an equine facility with sustainable design principles.

Shawn Balon and Gage Couch, Clemson University?EUR??,,????'??+”Tracks Through Time: Buzzards Bay Main Street Meets the Cape Cod Canal” proposes to reinvigorate the Buzzards Bay downtown and reconnect the residential areas to Main Street and the canal.

The annual design competition awards outstanding examples of how the practice of landscape architecture and licensing affects the quality of life. Each winning student received a cash award of $1,000 from the foundation.
