CLARB (Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards) announces the 2012 Wayne Grace Memorial Student Design Competition. CLARB is a not-for-profit charitable foundation, the Landscape Architectural Registration Boards Foundation (LARBF), created this annual competition in honor of Wayne Grace, a licensed professional who was dedicated to improving the quality of life in his hometown of Macon, Georgia through the practice of landscape architecture. Grace worked to advance the cause of licensure for landscape architects throughout the United States and Canada and exemplified the qualities that this competition seeks to bring attention to in the landscape architectural profession.
The competition is open to any student or team of students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Landscape Architectural degree program. It will recognize exceptional student examples of landscape architectural work that clearly demonstrates (in words and images that can be easily understood by the public, regulators, landscape architects and other design professionals) how the practice of landscape architecture and licensing affects quality of life.
One grand prizewinner will receive $1,000 cash and $1,000 credit towards taking the L.A.R.E. or purchasing/renewing a CLARB council record. The entry fee is $25 and submissions will be accepted until Friday, June 29, 2012.
