Cipriano Landscape Design has awarded four scholarships totaling $10,000 to members of the Rutgers University class of 2011: landscape architecture majors Sarah Nitchman, Maspeth, N.Y and Joseph Trancucci, Allendale, N.J.; plant science majors Krista Coleman, Hillsborough, N.J. and Nicholas Greene, Sparta, N.J.
Chris Cipriano, CEO/founder of Cipriano Landscape Design, notes the scholarships are awarded through the firm’s “Keeping It Green Foundation. The foundation promotes ecological sustainability and environmental stewardship through the study, development, preservation and promotion of landscape architecture and horticulture. One of the foundation’s goals is to collaborate with Rutgers to foster awareness for environmental conservation.
“He (Mr. Ciprian) has worked closely with Rutgers interns at his Mahwah, NJ-based Cipriano Farms, teaching them the necessary skills to apply their classroom knowledge in the workforce,” explains Rachel Napier, a developmental specialist in the office of the executive dean at Rutgers’ School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.
Cipriano Landscape Design, based in Ramsey, N.J., is a recognized industry leader in custom residential landscapes and swimming pools for more than 20 years.
