Cincinnati Art Museum "Art Climb"

by Staff

The primary goal of the Art Climb is to be an extension of the Cincinnati Art Museum into the landscape-an outdoor gallery for artwork in a variety of media. Additionally, it is meant to be a welcoming gesture to the residents from the adjacent neighborhoods to visit the museum and a space to encourage physical fitness. The Art Climb consists of monumental stairs leading to a series of terraces containing artwork and benches for relaxation. The forms of the stairs and walls were inspired by the limestone outcroppings found throughout the region. Special lighting creates a dynamic and artful nighttime experience.
