Recognizing the importance of garnering support, the team brought in Helaleh Behbahani, a seasoned Landscape Architect. Central to the project was the concept of a horticultural therapy garden. Marks, Felesina, and Behbahani recognized the therapeutic potential of connecting children with nature. The garden's design aimed to create a holistic space that catered to the children's physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. The butterfly garden, raised beds for planting foods, community picnic area, and meditation quiet area were all carefully planned to foster growth and healing.
The overarching need to introduce nature to underprivileged inner-city kids in Los Angeles underscored the project's mission.
