After being heavily damaged by flooding in May, the Cherokee Nation is employing a new technique to repair one of their bridges. The Fast Cast Bridge saves time and energy by making us of steel forms made in a facility, as well as prefabricated concrete beams.

 

The Principal Chief for the Cherokee, Chuck Hoskin Jr. explained, "From our historic self-governance agreement with the United States to these kinds of innovative construction techniques, we are in a new era of progress in improving roads and bridges across the Cherokee Nation Reservation." The Fast Cast Bridge will take significantly less time to install and prevent drivers from having to endure a 2.5-mile detour.
