The Environmental Protection Agency is reviewing comments on the details of its program to recognize irrigation certification programs. Certification will be the first service that will be eligible for recognition under the agency’s Water Efficiency Program established to help consumers identify water efficient products and services. The program will recognize certifications for irrigation auditors, irrigation installation and maintenance professionals and irrigation designers. Recognition by the EPA will help raise the profile of approved certification programs among consumers. Irrigation Association Executive Director Tom Kimmell and a number of IA members attended a session to comment on the draft guidelines and provided written feedback. Finalized details of the program are expected this summer. Courtesy of Irrigation Association
