ARVADA, Colo. - Applewood Seed Company's 2002 Wholesale Catalog presents five new wildflower species and three new garden flower varieties. For the first time, wetland species are being offered, and Applewood's new line includes forbs, grasses, sedges and rushes.
The company's list of individual species of flowers and grasses now numbers over 260. The new wildflower species include Western Yarrow, Lazy Daisy, Prairie Sagewort, Bloodflower and Golden Crownbeard. The new garden flowers are Gazania "Sunshine Mix," Gypsophila Deep Carmine and Lathyrus "Royal Family Mix."
For wetland projects, the company offers a wide range of seeds including Water Plantain, Swamp Milkweed, Joe Pyeweed, Water Iris, Common Arrowhead, Manna Grass, Prairie Cordgrass and a wide variety of sedges and rushes.
Custom mixutures can be blended according to specifications, and many
pre-forumulated custom mixtures are already available, including Bird Lover's Mix, Coastal Mix, Deer-Resistant Mix, Fragrant Mix, Hummingbird Mix, Warm Colors Mix and single color mixtures.
