Gold River, California by Staff
Blu Harbor, Redwood City, CA Formerly a marshland, this complex 12-acre site surrounded by a peninsula along Redwood Creek and across from Bair Island, provides a new extremely desirable community for all ages. The development was designed to maximize views of the shoreline and to take advantage of its close proximity to downtown Redwood City. Amenities include a clubhouse, pool, marina, extension of the Bay Trail, bocce ball courts, picnic areas, scenic overlook points, access to the SF Bay Water Trail, playground, dog washing facilities, outdoor kitchen, and lots of bicycle parking for the outdoor enthusiasts. In addition to the sensitivity to the view and alternative transportation, the development was designed to create a fluid yet subtle transition between public and private spaces through the use of bay friendly and water wise plants and materials. ASCE award winner.
