California DPR Looks to Reduce Risks
SACRAMENTO - The California Environmental Protection Agency's Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) will be offering more than $1 million in grants for projects helping to reduce pesticide risks to workers, consumers and the environment.
The DPR Pest Management Grants are available for reduced-risk projects in agricultural and urban areas. Previous DPR grants have supported school gardens, helped commodity groups battle problems in the past, and encouraged nature-friendly alternatives to highly toxic pesticides.
Since 1996, the DPR has awarded close to $8.4 million in grants to private groups, university researchers and government entities.
For more information about the DPR grant, visit www.cdpr.ca.gov.
