British Architects and LAs Agree to Strengthen Collaboration

On April 19, 2005, the presidents of the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Landscape Institute signed a memorandum of agreement for greater cooperation between the two bodies on ?EUR??,,????'??matters of mutual interest and shared provision of member services.?EUR??,,????'??

"This is an important agreement signifying a greater coming together of our disciplines and Institutes for the benefit of clients, users and the general public. It chimes well with the current move to coordinate skills for the delivery of sustainable communities. There has been an artificial separation between our interdependent disciplines for too long,?EUR??,,????'?? said RIBA President George Ferguson.

Dual membership will be actively encouraged. The RIBA-LI liaison committee will prepare plans and make recommendations. The presidents and vice presidents of the RIBA and LI will meet regularly to discuss matters of common interest.

?EUR??,,????'??Both Institutes have much to learn from each other and I look forward to us coming closer together as professional bodies and as fellow professional,?EUR??,,????'?? said RIBA President George Ferguson
