Governed by an overarching ecological landscape plan, the Great Park master plan provides a landscape vision for the nearly 4,000-acre former El Toro Marine base. The plan prioritizes functioning open space with a greenway and trails system that connects restored habitat and stream channels, a regional park, premier athletic facilities, and a system of community parks. Native and regionally sensitive plant communities respond to local topographic characteristics and create a functioning landscape infrastructure system that blends harmoniously with the built environment. The projects vision prioritizes pedestrians and cyclists and provides a safe circulation network that connects people to the parks and the surrounding amenities. Additionally, a growing collection of public art sited throughout this network provides visitors access to an expressive range of culture that reflects the character of the region.

The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is one of Hawaii's most successful resorts and second home communities. BrightView Design Group's original design created a private, tropical garden atmosphere, while infusing large planting gestures into the property's relatively spartan lava landscape. A second phase was developed in 1999 that included detailed design for the entry, primary roads, courtyards, clubhouse, beach house, and golf course. BVDG also completed work on a new outdoor spa treatment and garden, the Beach Tree Restaurant renovation, and an extensive post-tsunami renovation in 2011. Most recently, BVDG redesigned the members-only Canoe Club which includes a negative-edge swimming pool and spa, a retail/ocean services building, and canoe storage. Another current project is a heated pool with infinity edges overlooking Kings Pond, a 1.8 million gallon 'aquarium' carved out of natural lava rock that is home to more than 4,000 tropical fish from 98 different species.

With roots dating back to 1939, Brightview Design Group has approximately 90 employees, 12 of which are principals and 13 are RLAs. Specialties include visioning, master planning, design, project/program management and pre-development services. The scope of work encompasses hospitality, parks and civic spaces, master-planned communities, sports complexes, mixed-use and retail developments, themed environments, commercial, education, healthcare and religious.
