![]() LIGHTFAIR, an annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, prepares to visit the Big Apple next month for its 26th annual show. LIGHTFAIR LIGHTFAIR or LFI is an annual international architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference that is sponsored by the International Association of Lighting Designers and the Illuminating Engineering Society. Last year's 25th anniversary show in Las Vegas was a huge success, beating out all other previous years. • Shorter Course Options: 60-minute sessions and 30-minute Power Lunches Education The Pre-Conference LIGHTFAIR Institute and LIGHTFAIR Conference five-day program features 78 course offerings and more than 130 speakers. The 2015 program includes 11 Institute courses, 15 Institute workshops, 29 seminars, two Conference workshops, five Forum seminars, 12 60-minute sessions, two 30-minute Power Lunches and two Lunch & Learn seminars – totaling more than 210 hours with accreditation. May 6 • 3 p.m. Impact Speaker: Mark Rea, PhD, FIES, Monetizing the Benefits of Lighting, Great strides have been made to reduce the cost of lighting for general illumination; however, little progress has been made to increase the benefits that lighting provides to society. Events & Networking Presenters for this year's event include Shuji Nakamura, Ph.D., who is a 2014 Nobel Prize Winner in Physics. He will present – The History of LED Technology to the Nobel Prize to Today's GaN, during the Pre-Conference Institute Keynote Luncheon on May 3 at 12:15 p.m. LFI Innovation Awards will highlight the industry's most innovative products and designs introduced during the last 12 months.
