Kim Lighting, a leading manufacturer of outdoor architectural lighting, announced that several of its products were used as part of the $234 million reconstruction of the I-35 Bridge in Minneapolis, Minn., that collapsed during the summer of 2007.






Kim Lighting products were used to light three areas on and around the bridge: the two stone monuments on either side of the bridge marking the precise spot where the Mississippi River begins.


The lighting for the bridge was designed by leading lighting design firm Randy Burkett Lighting Design in St. Louis. The I-35 Bridge reopened on September 18, three months ahead of schedule. It collapsed on August 1, 2007, killing 13 people and injuring 145.
