The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) recently announced the results of the presidential election for the 2025-2026 term. Bradley McCauley, PLA, FASLA, who was controversially the only licensed Landscape Architect in the election, will be sworn in as president-elect at the 2024 Conference on Landscape Architecture in Washington, DC from October 6 through 9. Kona Gray, FASLA, will be sworn in as president and SuLin Kotowicz, FASLA will take her role as past-president. The event will celebrate the 125-year history of the ASLA.
McCauley - who will also be elevated to the
2024 Council of Fellows - is licensed in 14 states and led a five year effort to protect licensure in Illinois by regaining the Title Act.
McCauley graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he is now on the Department of Landscape Architecture Resource Committee. Additionally, he has worked as a Landscape Architect for the last 17 years and has worked as the managing principal at site design group in Chicago, Illinois for the past ten years.

My heartfelt thanks go out to all the members for your trust and support," said McCauley of the election, "Building on the foundation of our major initiatives, strategic plan, and major developments such as STEM designation and the elevation of nature-based solutions by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, we have a unique opportunity to elevate our profession."
The election was held from May 7 through June 7. All full, associate, student, and international members in good professional standing were eligible to vote via email or paper. LASN reached out to Bradley McCauley for a comment but at the time of publication, did not hear back.
