Bob King of Edgewood, Wash. has won the 2006 ECHO Carving Series Championship held during the Ducks Unlimited Great Outdoors Festival in Oshkosh, Wis. On August 25-27. Sponsored by ECHO INCORPORATED, a leading manufacturer of outdoor power equipment, the ECHO Carving Series is a showcase competition between award-winning chain saw sculptors. Eight competitors from four qualifying events competed for the championship.

All eight finalists labored over 20 hours during the weekend wowing the crowds with their unbelievable talent causing quite a difficult judging process. Judging criteria included: theme interpretation, degree of difficulty, craftsmanship, design and artistic impact, and correctness of form/anatomy proportion/state of completion.

Attendees had an opportunity to go home with one of seven sculptures, as each piece was auctioned on Sunday with the proceeds split between the carver and Ducks Unlimited?EUR??,,????'???s wetlands conservation efforts. The eighth sculpture will be held in reserve for auction at the Ducks Unlimited?EUR??,,????'???s Wisconsin State Chapter Banquet held in January 2007.
