California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed Assembly Bill 711, which authorizes the state?EUR??,,????'?????< The California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA) argued in support of the bill. The association argued that the construction of outdoor kitchens and freestanding outdoor fireplaces occupied an ambiguous area of the law. While an outdoor kitchen qualifies as a ?EUR??,,????'?????< CSLB staff has been reluctant to permit landscapecontractors to perform certain work, such as the installation of electrical or gas appliances, water supply and wastewater drainage systems, and roofing, that are increasingly demanded by homeowners. CLCA states that local building officials also found this area of law confusing with some refusing to let landscape contractors pull permits and others allowing it.
