Midway through the month of October 2018, Pennsylvania State University released a news article highlighting four of its students receiving awards from the Pennsylvania-Delaware chapter of the Americans Society of Landscape Architects' Student Awards Program.Just two weeks prior, the University of California, Berkeley also published an article lauding three its students for their project proposals. Those awards were provided by the Narayanan Family Foundation, a charitable organization established in 2016 by Ari Daman, a landscape designer, and Srinivas Narayanan, a director at Facebook according to his LinkedIn page.The three students from Berkeley that were recognized were: Grace Mitchell Tada, Cheyenne Concepcion and Ellen Plane. Each student was presented with an Excellence in Landscape Design award, marking the second consecutive year the award was presented. Their project titles and descriptions can be seen on the Berkeley news article relating to the matter HERE.From Penn State, Jingyin Zhu earned the Merit Award in the General Design category; Sadiqa Ansari won the Honor Award in the Analysis and Planning category; Tongtong Zhou received the Merit Award in the Analysis and Planning category; and lastly, Xiaoji Zhou was awarded the Honor Award in the Communications category.
