IECA Executive Director Ben Northcutt?EUR??,,????'???s contract expired June 30, 2007.

Ben Northcutt, who served as the executive director of the International Erosion Control Association for 19 years, has stepped down, as planned, to join Hemisphere Expo Services, Inc., a conference and exposition planning company in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

Northcutt made known his decision in April not to seek renewal of his contract that ran through June 30, 2007.

Kimberly Walker, IECA promotions manager, told LASN via email there is not a new executive director in place yet. ?EUR??,,????'??It is my understanding that the Board is hoping to do some interviews at their meeting next week.?EUR??,,????'?? (The week of July 9-13.)

Northcutt called his work at IECA ?EUR??,,????'??one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.?EUR??,,????'?? He characterized IECA as ?EUR??,,????'??vastly different than it was back in the mid ?EUR??,,????'???80s,?EUR??,,????'?? and said he was ?EUR??,,????'??very proud to be part of an organization that truly cares about the people it serves as well as the people that lead it.?EUR??,,????'??

Ron Faucher, CPESC, president of the IECA Board of Directors, has praised Northcutt for leading the association from its infancy through years of growth, helping to make the IECA a major player in the industry. When Northcutt was hired as executive director in 1988, the membership numbered 300. IECA membership has grown to more than 3,500, representing nearly 20 fields of professional practice and more than 52 countries.
