The EcoCommercial Building (ECB) network of leading providers of high-performance building products and services announces it has enhanced its pursuit of environmentally responsible structures by working with the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability (IoES).???(R)???AE'?N????e'?N,A+???(R)???AE'?N????e'?N,A+ECB was initiated by Bayer MaterialScience LLC in 2010.

The IoES brings together UCLA's preeminent environmental research with companies dedicated to fostering environmental responsibility and expanding green innovation. The academic/corporate collaboration enabled by the IoES will allow Bayer MaterialScience to draw upon the renowned resources offered by UCLA faculty, researchers and students and, in return, provide research, innovation and real-world performance data as well as market information to the institute. The Corporate Partners program provides a networking forum for like-minded companies invested in the design and construction of high-performance buildings.

IoES Director Glen MacDonald stated, ''We look forward to collaborating with Bayer MaterialScience (and its ECB network members) through our Corporate Partners Program. Bayer's commitment to renewable energies and sustainable construction, as well as their open, interdisciplinary approach makes them an excellent partner as we strive to provide solutions to the major environmental challenges facing our planet.

The Director of the EcoCommercial Building Program in North America, Paul Platte, stated, ''We are always looking for business intelligence that reveals technology gaps which we then can address. Because ECB serves as a single-point resource for a breadth of diverse products and services designed to ultimately evolve buildings to Net Zero, we have high expectations that our new relationship with UCLA's IoES will enhance our mission in the same multidisciplinary approach we have set forth for ourselves.''

Our collaboration with the IoES will help us with that for the built environment and also in many other related areas of scientific research.
