New Park Manager Named

HARRISBURG, PA

On behalf of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge, Conservation and Natural Resources Executive Deputy Secretary for Parks and Forestry John Plonski recently announced the appointment of a new park manager at Bald Eagle State Park in Centre County.

Steven Volgstadt of Carlisle, Cumberland County, was named to head operations at the 5,900-acre park."Steve has demonstrated a complete knowledge of all aspects of park management while working here in Harrisburg with the Bureau of State Parks' Operations section," Plonski said. "He takes a wide range of solid managerial skills to his new post at Bald Eagle."

Volgstadt succeeds Tony Miele, retired veteran park manager at Bald Eagle, who oversaw operations and programs at the park since its inception in the late 1960s.
