EULESS, Texas - Superior Concrete Products recently received the 2001 National Precast Concrete Association's (NPCA) Building, Housing, Landscape & Specialty Products Award at the February NPCA convention, according to Barry Stevens, Ph.D, CFP, Superior's vice president of sales and engineering.

Superior is being recognized for the manufacture and installation of a custom decorative precast concrete screening and sound wall for an electrical substation in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Stevens said. The NPCA competition is held annually and all entries are judged by its Building, Housing, Landscape & Specialty Product Committee. Awards are based according to project innovation, cost benefits, schedule savings, ease of construction and aesthetics.

"The project called for a high-quality, no-maintenance, aesthetically-pleasing screening and sound barrier to be built around the working substation," Stevens added. "We installed the custom 175-foot x 10-foot high SUPERIOR-STONE®(stone texture) screening wall without hindering the plant's operations or causing any down time - all within the utility's cost, quality and time parameters."
