Austin Kirby Wins Kickstart Contest

Austin Kirby is the winner of the CASE Construction Equipment 2018 Kickstart Contest! Kirby is the owner of Kirb Appeal Lawn & Landscape LLC, which began in 2014.

Several months ago CASE Construction Equipment announced its annual Kickstart Contest, and after more than 350 entries, a winner has been chosen.

This year, Austin Kirby, a landscaping business owner in the small town of Oxford, Ala., took home the lucrative grand prize. Five other business owners from around the country were also chosen as runner ups.

As the sole grand prize winner, Kirby will receive the following package:

• A 6-month lease on a piece of equipment of his choice.
• A yearlong consultation with landscape contracting industry expert Jeffrey Scott.
• A $3,500 "Parts & Service" rewards card.
• Fleet management consultation and recommendations from CASE staff throughout 2018.
• Brand-new, custom-branded apparel/uniforms.
• Up to 5 passes to the 2018 Green Industry & Equipment expo in Louisville, Ky.

In an exclusive interview with Landscape Contractor Magazine, Kirby relayed, "I was surprised I actually won. It is a wonderful opportunity and it will really help me grow my business. While I am excited about the equipment, I am most excited about the consultations because they will really help me take my business to the next level."

As for the piece of construction equipment, Kirby chose the CX57C Excavator for the 6-month lease. He stated that he already has several drainage projects lined up that will be much easier with the excavator at his disposal. He also added that he and his 4-man crew might even use it for large sprinkler installations projects in the future.
