The American Society of Landscape Architecture (ASLA) is sending two representatives from the association to COP28 in Dubai, UAE. Eight will be a part of the meeting remotely as well.
In their second year, ASLA has been an NGO observer to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of Parties (COP) process.
Torey Carter-Conneen, CEO will be attending COP28 from December 5-10 while, Pamela Conrad, ASLA, LEED AP, Founder of Climate Positive Design and Senior Fellow will be in attendance from December 2-11. Additionally, landscape architect delegate of the Government of Thailand, Kotchakorn Voraakhom, International ASLA will also be in attendance from November 30-December 18. All three are experts in nature-based solutions, landscape architecture, and biodiversity, to name a few.
Delegates are looking to advance nature-based design solutions including biodiversity, livability, double carbon sequestration by 2040, resilience, and sustainable practices through COP28.
