Diane Sferrazza Katz, executive director of the ASLA New York Chapter (ASLA-NY), will retire on March 31, 2025, as announced by ASLA-NY. At the time of her retirement, Katz will have worked with the ASLA-NY chapter for eight years.

 
Before becoming executive director, Katz worked as a banker and finance manager, a background that came in handy while maintaining the ASLA-NY chapter through COVID-19.

In a special announcement through the chapter's newsletter. ASLA-NY President Annie Phaosawasdi, PLA, ASLA shared: "Diane has truly been a beloved friend and positive spirit for all who have had the pleasure of serving with her on the Board, the Chapter members, sponsors, and anyone who meets her. We will miss her dearly but are very happy for her as she begins her next adventure."

The position will not stay empty after Katz retires, as David Russo, PLA, ASLA has already been confirmed as the next executive director. According to Phaosawasdi's announcement, Russo will be the first Landscape Architect to hold the position.
