ASLA Joins the RainWorks Challenge

The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) was founded in 1899, and is the national professional association for landscape architects. The Society's mission is to lead, educate, and to participate in the careful stewardship, wise planning, and artful design of cultural and natural environments.

The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is jointly holding a green infrastructure design competition at colleges and universities with the EPA's Office of Water (Environmental Protection Agency), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the Water Environment Federation (WEF).

The Campus RainWorks Challenge is open to undergraduate and graduate student teams, who will create an innovative green infrastructure design for a site on their campus, showing how managing stormwater at its source can benefit the campus community, and the environment. Winning teams will earn a cash prize, as well as research funds for their faculty advisor to conduct research on green infrastructure.

ASLA will provide volunteer judges for the first and second rounds and will host the final round of judging in the spring. Winners will be announced on April 22nd.
