2022 brought much to celebrate for the Illinois Chapter (ILASLA). ILASLA is glad to announce that after a long and winding, multi-year initiative, a landscape architecture title act has been reinstated and the profession is once more regulated in the state of Illinois. The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) is now officially licensing landscape architects again. This was a major achievement.

In addition to all the time that went into this major accomplishment, the Chapter held another successful year of educational, networking, and social events.
In March, the Chapter collected for the first time of the year at a Winter Spritzer, featuring an exciting and competitive ping pong tournament.
In June, members gathered on a downtown rooftop at the Summer Skyline Party for an evening under the stars as we welcomed the warm weather to Chicago.
In July, the ILASLA Emerging Professionals put on a Happy Hour to connect college students on summer break, as well as recent graduates, with local landscape architects while enjoying games of shuffleboard at the Royal Palms.

In September, the Chapter hosted its annual Celebration+ event. Awards for outstanding work were given out after a day of educational and inspiring field sessions focused on a handful of recent local projects.
