What is your experience using Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) in your landscape architecture work? That's what the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), and the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA) want to know in their joint survey.

The survey, available in English and French and released in early fall, includes the newest topics and concerns regarding A.I. in design that have emerged since the initial 2023-2024 survey. Questions touch on topics like: "How and to what extent are Landscape Architects using A.I.?" "How might it impact the field?" "What supports are needed?" "How to PLAs perceive themselves in relation to A.I.?"

The survey's introduction states: "A.I. is not just changing design processes; it's also altering how professionals perceive their roles in the industry. These changes raise important questions about the future of landscape architecture, particularly regarding practice, education, and research." The three organizations stress the importance of understanding A.I.'s impact on landscape architecture in particular in order to "[guide] its thoughtful integration into our profession."

What is your experience with A.I. in your practice? LASN would love to hear it! Email editorial@landscapearchitect.com with your answers to the above questions or any other thoughts you may have on the topic.
