ASLA student members Abdias Dalisma (University of Florida), Rachel SantaOlalla (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo) and Kelsey Steward (Kansas State University) have been selected as the ASLA Council of Fellows (COF) Scholarship recipients for 2015. Each will receive $4,000 to pursue their studies.

Abdias Dalisma is an undergraduate studying landscape architecture at the University of Florida. His father migrated from Haiti to the U.S. in the early '80s. Abdias has since returned to Haiti to work on several educational projects. He aspires to work for a landscape architecture firm and continue to his passion for landscape architecture and design.

Rachel SantaOlalla is an undergraduate studying landscape architecture and land rehabilitation at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. As she approaches her senior year, Rachel is confident her education has prepared her to succeed in landscape architecture. She enjoys being involved at the professional level of ASLA, as well as with her student chapter, and plans to continue her involvement with ASLA on a national level.

Kelsey Steward is pursuing a master's degree at Kansas State University, with a minor in horticulture. She plans to apply her education to sustainable development, water use and social issues. A member of her student ASLA chapter, Kelsey enjoys helping people and communities. As a landscape architect, she believes strives to become an advocate for socially and environmentally healthy community development.

The three students will attend the ASLA annual meeting and EXPO at McCormick Place in Chicago Nov. 6-9, where they will receive their scholarship certificates.

The ASLA Council of Fellows established the scholarship fund in 2004 to aid outstanding students in financial need, increase the participation in landscape architecture of economically disadvantaged and underrepresented populations, and enrich the profession through increased diversity. The Landscape Architecture Foundation administers the scholarship on behalf of the ASLA Council of Fellows.
