Throughout her 30 years of practice experience, Debra Guenther has been a committed leader of multidisciplinary work. She has consistently brought landscape architecture and site issues to the table throughout the green building revolution. Her commitment to the challenge is evident through her participation with interdisciplinary organizations: Urban Land Institute; U.S. Green Building Council; Cascadia Region Green Building Council; International Living Futures Institute; and National Recreation and Parks Association; and her long-term service as ASLA's representative to the Sustainable Sites Initiative. Her project leadership has resulted in two national honor awards from ASLA, and the 2010 ASLA President's Medal.

Barbara Swift's landscape and urban design practice produces designs that range from wildlands restoration to carefully crafted urban projects embedded with subtle reference to history and culture. Her work reflects an elegantly minimalism that responds to the demands of daily life. In 1973 she developed an independent study program in Kyoto, Japan that focused on traditional landscape architecture and rigorous study of calligraphy and sumi. She established Swift Company in 1982 as a platform for her pioneering work.
