An international company that has developed a technology that allows for the low-cost construction and maintenance of unlimited-sized lagoons, and has built numerous ones in locations throughout the world, recently announced its plans to enter the U.S. market with four projects at real estate developments in Florida. That company, Crystal Lagoons, partners with real estate developers, industrial institutions and governmental entities to provide licensing for its innovative technology with applications that range from recreational to industrial and more. The announcement revealed its partnership with Metro Development Group to build the lagoons in residential communities near Tampa, Florida. "There has been a strong demand for (our) technology, especially in the U.S., and we are committed to our growth here," said Kevin P. Morgan, CEO, Crystal Lagoons US Corp. Reported to be eco-friendly and sustainable, the lagoons are designed for a wide range of recreational activities including swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and sailing. The Miami-based company has been recognized by more than 5,000 international publications including Popular Mechanics and National Geographic for its innovative water treatment technology, which results in up to 100 times fewer additives and uses approximately two percent of the energy required by traditional filtration systems. Patented in 160 countries, the technology has been used in more than 300 projects in 60 countries worldwide, including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Oman, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Spain, Brazil and Chile. Besides real estate applications, the technology is also being used to provide industrial solutions for closed-circuit cooling systems for thermal power plants, data-centers and more.
