Arkansas Chapter of ASLA

Year In Review
by Staff

Year In Review summary:
The ASLA Arkansas Chapter is pleased to announce that we hired our first lobbyist for the 2023 legislative session.
The Chapter hosted the Central States Conference, a three-day professional ASLA Conference in Fayetteville, Arkansas on April 19 - 21, 2023. The Central States is comprised of six chapters of the ASLA (Arkansas, St. Louis, Iowa, Oklahoma, Prairie Gateway, and Nebraska / Dakotas) and encompasses eight states (North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas). These chapters come together once a year for camarade-rie, learning, advancing the profession, and to celebrate their best work.
The Conference theme, Natural Networks: Bridging Art, Experience, and Community, influenced the speaker selection and the emphasis on outdoor tours for
educational sessions.

The Awards were presented at a sold-out Ban-quet, which featured a local string duo, Smokey & the Mirror.
We would like to thank everyone on the Central States Committee who helped with this tremen-dous event!
