Arizona Biltmore Hotel, Dream Hollywood Hotel, and Cosmopolitan Pool Deck

Submission by Beachside Lighting

Beachside Lighting has three separate hotel installations using our L-011-P Series pattern projectors. The first, the Arizona Biltmore Hotel in Scottsdale features three different areas. The Saguaro Pool and Paradise Pool areas use a pattern within the standard L-011-P fixture to replicate the looks of each metal lattice, and then project those same shapes on the floor. The Renata's Restaurant features the L-011-P using a different pattern to throw small circles of light on to the ground, mimicking the light that exits the larger, hanging fixtures. The second is the Dream Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, CA. This installation features the L-011-P-H fixtures hanging from a catenary cable Chosen was a "break-up" pattern "Amorphous", a collection of random shapes. The third is the Cosmopolitan pool deck in Las Vegas. Also using the L-011-P-H, theses fixtures were interspersed with more decorative fixtures along a catenary cable, projecting swirls down onto the pool deck. Lighting design and photography by Stephanie Daigle from Focus Lighting, New York City.

The L-011-P is a solid brass fixture and is intended to be installed outdoors, even right near the ocean. At around 8" long, it is one of the smallest pattern projectors on the market, and is available at 12 Volts, making it ideal for use with standard landscape lighting transformers.

The upcoming Lighting Issue of Landscape Architect and Specifier News saw many firms submit their projects for feature consideration. This project was not chosen for a Feature in the issue, but we at LandscapeArchitect.com thought the project deserved to be showcased online . . .
