LOS ANGELES?EUR??,,????'??+Lighting contractors got a chance to show how quick they were with their hands at the CLCA Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Feb. 16-17. At stake was a digital camera worth $400, for the person who could successfully wire five low voltage light fixtures to a transformer, in the shortest amount of time. The leads were brought together in one junction. By making one junction it sent voltage equally to each fixture.
Robert Zeis of Sonoma West Landscape in Mission Viejo, Calif., had the fastest time of 2 minutes 5 seconds on Feb. 16. One shirt was given away each hour to the top performer, with all participants receiving hats. Nate Mullen came up with the idea for the contest, hosted at Unique Lighting Systems?EUR??,,????'??? booth.
?EUR??,,????'??Anyone can participate in the contest,?EUR??,,????'?? said Unique Lighting Systems Southern California salesperson Tom Kuenzi. ?EUR??,,????'??They can use any design they want from Daisy Chain, T-Method, Loop Method or Unique Hub Method.?EUR??,,????'??
Kuenzi said the Hub Method balances the voltage to each light. Other manufacturing methods could have flaws. ?EUR??,,????'??There?EUR??,,????'???s no physical way to balance the voltage with other methods,?EUR??,,????'?? said Kuenzi. ?EUR??,,????'??The Hub Method balances the voltage because each fixture has a 25-foot lead which equalizes the voltage drop to each fixture.?EUR??,,????'??
